Hale. London Radio Celebrating music culture
Rose Daly is an Art Director, Designer, University Lecturer, fashion photographer, DJ, and co-founder of Hale London, a Tottenham-based music, arts, and culture platform.
With over 20 years of experience in art direction and design, she has worked with leading UK and international media organisations and record labels, including Sony Europe, Sony BMG, Universal Music, EMI, Sanctuary Records Group (including Trojan Records, Attack, Rough Trade, Fantastic Plastic, Castle Music, Sanctuary Frontline, Ras Records, White Label Recordings, and Studio One), Island, ITV Publishing, EMAP Media Group, and Channel 4. Her work spans branding, artwork, and both print and digital campaigns for established and emerging artists.
Alongside her professional practice, Rose has spent two decades in higher and further education as a Graphic Media Design lecturer, and also works as a fashion photographer for commercial and independent clients.
As co-founder and director of Hale London, she leads the organisation’s weekly live music programming, DJ roster, playlists, partnerships, and broader cultural initiatives.
Deeply engaged in her local community in Haringey, she mentors emerging creatives, delivers workshops, and contributes to a creative advisory panel for Haringey Council, helping shape funding decisions for arts organisations and initiatives.
Under her DJ alias Rose Livewire, she has over 25 years of experience performing across genres. Early in her career, she worked with the Sanctuary Records/Trojan in-house team, performing at events such as “Trojan Explosion” at Market Place Bar in Great Portland Street, which she also co-ran for several years, hosting label nights and artist launch events featuring key Trojan Records acts.
She went on to create, develop, and promote club nights, festivals, and events including appearances at Mau Mau Bar on Portobello Road, Notting Hill Carnival, Notting Hill Arts Centre, One Love Festival, and the launch of “The Trojan Sunday Service” in collaboration with Grooverider’s long-running “Grace” event at Herbal Club in Shoreditch. She has also performed at numerous venues across the UK and internationally.
Her experience extends into radio broadcasting, from pirate radio to licensed platforms, including “The Live Injection Show,” sponsored by Universal Music during Trojan Records’ time as a subsidiary label. She is also featured in The Story of Trojan Records (2018) by Laurence Cane-Honeysett, in recognition of her contributions to the label’s legacy.
A dedicated cross-genre vinyl collector with extensive historical and contemporary musical knowledge, Rose’s combined experience in music, design, education, and culture led to the creation of Hale London.
